Competitive Edge – Radio Interview

Chris Davidson of Active Presence is a professional speaker, trainer and award-winning author who also hosts a weekly radio show, The Competitive Edge which goes out on RedShift Radio (over the internet and on FM in the north of England).

Last Wednesday, I had the honour and great pleasure of being Chris’s guest on the show where we talked about changing models of work and what that means for businesses and individuals.  The programme is available via RedShift’s Listen Again link for the next couple of days (until over-written with this week’s show).

One of the nuggets I unearthed when researching for the show was just how expensive office space is all across the UK (not just in London).  According to CB Richard Ellis, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and Aberdeen all rank in the top 50 most expensive locations for offices worldwide.

As Telework Research Centre’s recent research shows, the potential savings from adopting a flexible or remote working model are substantial with a large portion of those savings coming from real estate.

It is little wonder that firms and individuals alike are exploring this as an attractive new model for work.
