For many freelancing folks, being home-based is part of the deal, often part of the attraction: no commute, no overhead, no politics.  

Of course, we spend varying degrees of time in client premises: interim managers probably spend the majority of their project time in the client’s office; copywriters, probably less so.

Flexibility of location is also an increasing part of most people’s working lives as employers embrace flexibility to reduce costs and attract (or retain) talented people.  Last year’s research by the Telework Research Centre pointed to the benefits for individuals and organisations of working from home just two days a week.
