A fifteen minute podcast interview with Bryan Garner, author of the HBR Guide to Better Business Writing, here, is worth a listen.

My favourite takeaway is the Flowers Paradigm, named after its creator, Betty Sue Flowers.  It’s a four-step approach to writing anything:

• Madman
• Architect
• Carpenter
• Judge
