Steven Pressfield lost his home in Los Angeles fires

The author Steven Pressfield lost his home of 32 years in the recent Los Angeles wildfires.

I first encountered his work in The War of Art (2002) and have followed him ever since. His Writing Wednesday blog and email is a regular source of motivation and inspiration, so the news – announced in passing…

“Thank you everyone who has checked in with me and Diana. We are safe. Our house is gone but we’ll be back.
Anyone ordering books everything is gone so we’ll keep you posted and thanks to everyone who has supported our little company.”

… made the evening news footage rather more real. It also made me reflect that – when you run your business from home and disaster strikes – you lose everything, both home and work, your life’s memories and your livelihood.
