Blake Lee-Harwood: Why the BP spill was good for wildlife

Writing in Management Today’s blog, The Green Machine, Blake Lee-Harwood discusses some fascinating research from the Gulf of Mexico oil-spill which shows a huge increase in marine species in the area after the oil-spill.

I’m always attracted to unexpected results and this one is a great reminder of the importance of taking a holistic view of any situation.  In this case, the point is that the “obvious evil” was perhaps not nearly as damaging as the subtle and pernicious “good” which it prevented.
