Le cri de la soie – the cry of silk – what a wonderfully evocative phrase.

I learn, as I learn so much, from A Suitable Wardrobe’s Will Boehlke that le cri de la soie is the sound that a well made silk knit tie makes when you squeeze it.  An undoubted sound and sign of quality.

I have never seriously considered a knitted silk tie before.  Now I want one just to squeeze.
