Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson

If, like me, you never caught up with Stephenson’s 1992 sci-fi classic, here’s a review from the Life of Chaz blog to inspire it onto your Must-Read shelf.

The novel is credited with popularising the term “avatar” and inspired a generation of game developers, crypto-currency fans and software engineers, including Jeff Bezos, former Microsoft CTO J Allard and the Xbox Live development team.

There’s also an interesting overview of the cult novel’s relevance to today from historian Niall Ferguson, here.

The novel itself is here.

And also, hopefully, on my own shelf in a couple of days.
