The World’s Most Ethical Companies–Ethisphere
Ethisphere has published its 2011 list of the world’s most ethical companies. It is an interesting read with some entries which clearly align to public perception or marketing intention (Timberland, Johnson Controls) and others which are more of a surprise.
First impression is that there is a disproportionate amount of US companies and I wonder whether that is more a reflection of the efforts which large US companies are required to take to make their processes more explicit (in the aftermath of Sarbanes-Oxley and in the glare of public opinion). It is great to see Microsoft included and interesting to see (as tech blogger Joe Wilcox comments) that Apple and Google are not.
