Hemingway on Writing

Courtesy of the Paris Review, via Nicholas Bate, a fascinating interview from 1958: Ernest Hemingway interviewed by George Plimpton.

The scene-setting introduction and responses (though occasionally testy) offer a marvellous insight into Hemingway’s hugely disciplined approach to his craft.

060803-Key West 019Herewith, my rather inadequate shot of Hemingway’s home in Key West from which you can’t see the pool, the balcony or the 60-odd, over-toed cats.
